Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has returned to power with a larger majority and a stronger mandate on the strength of its governance and impressive economic achievements.

Over the next two months, the Government will announce its first budget, a 100-day programme and strategy for the next five years, as it pushes for stronger economic growth, modernisation, access and inclusion.

India-Singapore economic partnership is strong, broad-based and growing. It is also increasingly innovation-driven. It exists in a framework of excellent political relations and people-to-people ties. As India heads into the top three global economies and Singapore seeks to diversify its economic relations amidst far-reaching geopolitical, economic and technological changes in the world, Singapore and India have vast opportunities to take their partnership to a new level.

The High Commission of India, in partnership with agencies of Governments of India and Singapore, chambers of commerce, professional associations and innovation labs, is organising a two-day Business and Innovation Summit, “India-Singapore: The Next Phase”, on 9-10 September 2019 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore.

The Summit will have two inter-related conferences: A business event and the third edition of the India-Singapore Innovation and Start-up platform – InSpreneur – launched by the High Commission in January 2018.

The first international business and innovation event in NDA 2.0 will bring leaders from government, business and technology sectors from India and Singapore to map out the next phase of India-Singapore partnership, and also provide a platform for international businesses to connect with India.

The Summit will have two inter-related conferences:

• “India-Singapore: The Next Phase” – a business event that will focus on core areas, including the financial sector, infrastructure, urban development, real estate, logistics, regional trade, water, agro-tech and food processing, and skills development.
• InSpreneur 3.0:  the third edition of the India-Singapore Innovation and Start-up platform launched by the High Commission in January 2018. This will focus on fintech, SMEs digital platforms, connecting start-ups in India and ASEAN, cyber security, artificial intelligence, future of data, Industry 4.0, and health and bio biotech.

The Summit will feature Ministerial keynotes, panel discussions, round-tables, Start-up and Innovation Exhibition, investor pitching, lunches as well as opportunities for networking and meetings with Indian Ministers and officials, companies, law firms and start-ups. Invest India and state investment agencies will be available for advising and supporting interested companies throughout the two-day Summit.
