Australian Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, Karen Andrews, delivered a keynote address on setting out Australia’s vision for engaging on innovation and science in the ASEAN region. The key themes of the speech included support for Australian business, entrepreneurs and researchers to enhance collaboration and embrace emerging opportunities with regional counterparts, along with deepening our economic links with ASEAN partners and growing job opportunities in Australia and the region.
In her speech, she talks about her being the first Minister for Science and Technology with a STEM background. She also touch on some of the programs that encourage Australian women to STEM education and the challenges.
