Singapore Team, led by Citizen Innovation, picked up 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals for their inventions at the Taipei International Invention Show & Technomart 2017 (INST 2017), which took place on 28-30th September 2017 at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Of the 6 entries we submitted, our innovators took home 5 medals. There are over 1500 patents from 23 countries made it to the finals, of which 504 finalists from 23 categories are awarded medals. The show is organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), and also hosted by Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). The umpire for the judging committee for this year is Japan Intellectual Property Association.

The team’s stellar performance on its maiden invention show participation has proven the quality of community level innovation in Singapore, and also generated interest among Singaporeans to bring their patented works to be validated on the world stage.

Our next stop will be Kaohsiung International Invention & Design Expo 2017 (KIDE 2017) on 8th to 10 December 2017, hosted by World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA).
